ValarIQ — product overview
The authorisation layer for autonomous finance. Policy-governed control between agents and payment systems. For design-partner conversations.
Category
Agentic financial controls — not generic AI governance. ValarIQ governs controlled delegation of financial authority to non-human actors.
The problem
If an agent can execute a payment, you need a control point you can defend to a regulator. Agents initiate refunds, transfers, and account changes — but chat logs are not a control record a regulated firm can defend.
What ValarIQ is
The control plane between autonomous agents and payment rails. Does not replace models or core banking. Evaluates identity, delegated authority, and transaction policy → ALLOW, DENY, or ESCALATE. Every financial action is attributable, policy-evaluated, and independently auditable.
Promise: provable enough to deploy — not slow enough to be safe.
Five layers
- Agent identityCertificates, scopes, revocation — IAM for autonomous financial actors
- Delegated authorityAgent Authority Profiles: what this agent may do under which circumstances
- Policy enforcementRules at execution time → ALLOW / DENY / ESCALATE
- Runtime controlKill switch, observe mode, rate limits (roadmap: velocity, dual auth)
- EvidenceDecision evidence objects for Risk, Compliance, Audit
First wedge: controlled autonomous refunds
Increase automated refund throughput without increasing financial risk. Default policy: auto-approve up to £100, escalate £100–£500, deny above limit. Observe mode models impact before enforcement.
Why not build in-house?
IAM answers: can this identity access this resource? ValarIQ answers: is this specific financial action within the authority delegated to this autonomous actor, under these circumstances, right now?
Primary ICP
UK/EU fintechs and payment companies (Series B–D) deploying AI into refunds, payment exceptions, reconciliation, and account servicing — large enough for compliance pressure, small enough to reach Risk and Engineering without Barclays-scale procurement.
Typical pilot
One refund path end-to-end. Gateway in front of the tool. Observe mode first, then enforce. Success = policy-evaluated calls + evidence packs auditors can open. Design-partner pricing; billing by invoice.
